Founded in 2010, Blue Word Studios is a full-service writing and editorial consultancy based outside of Boston, Massachusetts. We collaborate with authors to write or ghostwrite and edit projects at every level of the draft-to-final-manuscript process. Our projects include full-length works of fiction, memoirs, narrative nonfiction, scholarly texts, poetry, translations, book-to-film adaptations, and original screenplays. Clients include first-time authors, previously published novelists, scholars, poets, international political figures, socialites, and screenwriters.
Brin has been a writer, editor, and ghostwriter for over fifteen years, collaborating with authors to structure, develop, edit, line edit, copyedit, proofread, and submit manuscripts to agencies, commercial publishing houses, and academic presses. Her authors have gone on to publish their books with Random House, W. W. Norton, HarperCollins, Beacon Press, Bloomsbury, Transaction, Harvard University Press, Cornell University Press, Princeton University Press, Stanford University Press, Rowman & Littlefield, and AltaMira Press.
Before founding Blue Word, Brin served as an editor at Harvard Divinity School, and as an instructor at Harvard Extension School, where she taught “Principles of Editing.” Before working at Harvard, she was the managing editor of two university-based magazines, at Boston University and Columbia University.
Brin recently partnered with Velveteen Films on several book-to-film projects, where she worked closely with writers to develop authors’ stories into screenplays.
